Review by Booklist Review

Tatsu is a legend in his own time he's called ""the Immortal Dragon."" But Tatsu has a new job: now he battles robotic vacuums and is learning to dominate bargain sale battlegrounds. A former member of the yakuza who once fought ten rival gangs in a single night, Tatsu is now working to be as fierce at keeping house as he was at keeping his underlings in line. Each short chapter is a vignette about anything from the character making a bento lunch for his wife to teaching the neighborhood kids he's babysitting how to play dice. The consistent throughline is Tatsu as the straight man: always serious, always sincere, and always glowering dangerously over his sunglasses at whatever is vexing him. The character designs are perfect for a comedy about a bad guy transitioning into becoming a traditional stay-at-home househusband, with Tatsu cold and gritty, like something out of a gekiga manga, while the neighbors are softer and his wife, an anime fan, is straight out of shojo. Great for Yotsuba&! fans who are ready to level up.--Eva Volin Copyright 2020 Booklist
