Streaming video - 2014
Since 1968, designer Calvin Klein branded an image and a message that catapulted his label to the forefront of global fashion. A marketing master, he took his pure aesthetic and turned it into a standard for modern dressing. Klein’s uncluttered vision was embraced by legions of Hollywood’s best and secured his position as one of America’s premier designers. In 2003, he inked a mega deal with Phillips van Heusen. He and partner Barry Schwartz sold the company that they started 35 years earlier for {dollar}430 million. Francisco Costa took over the reigns as designer. Costa clearly understands the trademarks of Calvin Klein, taking the unmistakably clean aesthetic of the house to an elegant new level in sportswear. Costa’s work has ea...rned him the admiration of his peers; he’s won the CFDA award for women’s wear in 2006 and now, again in 2008.
