Although the original founder of Ferragamo passed away in 1960, the Italian fashion house is still going strong thanks to the younger generations of the Ferragamo family. Started in 1914 as a shoe making company, Ferragamo has expanded to include accessories as well as a ready-to-wear line. The high quality standards put in place by Salvatore Ferragamo himself have not suffered as the empire has grown. 2007 was a significant year for the Ferragamo brand as the company celebrated its 80th anniversary and also prepared to go public. According to James Ferragamo, grandson of the founder Salvatore, Ferragamo will always be a family business. How would Salvatore feel about all the changes that have taken place recently?
