This program observes the National Parks and Wildlife Service as it conducts a training program for Indigenous people to work as wildlife rangers in Kakadu National Park. Local Aboriginal people, with excellent land management skills and a keenness to help preserve the natural beauty and heritage of their land, are learning to combine their practices with those of the Wildlife Service to provide a unique form of management in keeping the park’s habitats unspoilt for both tourists and the natural environment. It is hoped that visitors to the park will also be given a distinctive taste of Aboriginal culture.
