The Summer Help

Streaming video - 2016

Every summer, thousands of international students descend upon resorts and tourist towns in the United States to clean hotel rooms, wash dishes and make pizza for Americans on vacation. In this documentary, we meet students from Eastern Europe who dream about going to America to do the jobs that most American teenagers don’t want to do. What will they find when they get there and how will it change them? Follow them on their journey from their small villages to their first plane rides and as they adjust to new lives as summer workers. THE SUMMER HELP reminds us that America still represents hope and fulfills dreams for young people from around the world . . . even if it’s just for one summer. Official Selection at the **San Francisco Do...cumentary Film Festival**.
