The Little People, Big Dreams series (9 new titles) is well known for its kid-friendly, picture-book biographies. This latest batch introduces youngsters to admirable figures from the past and present with its trademark endearing illustrations and upbeat tone. Occasional use of antiquated language--picture house instead of movie theater, for example--and a few instances of awkwardly translated text (this series hails from Spain) may cause young readers to stumble, but the compelling stories will keep them moving forward. Kamala Harris presents the U.S. Vice President's path to the White House, highlighting the importance of this achievement for women and Black and Asian Americans. At the end of these charming books, readers will find a time line with photos of each book's subject and a more detailed biography of his or her life.
