Ages 4^-8. Disturbed when he sees his crib and high chair taken over by his baby sister, Pedro rescues his little blue chair and decides to run away with his dog, Willie. But he discovers that he has grown so big he needs a grown-up chair and happily helps his father paint the chair pink. Like the original English version, the Spanish text is slight but pertinent to the situation, and the illustrations, in rich, warm colors, are just as appealing.

This Spanish edition of the classic picture book 'Peter's Chair' (Harper) is carefully translated, reflecting the distinct emotions of Pedro, a young boy adjusting to having his blue furniture painted pink for his new baby sister. Keats's illustrations perfectly capture Pedro's expressions. From HORN BOOK 1996, (c) Copyright 2010. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
