Review by Booklist Review

Bakers and crafters will learn how to spoil their four-legged friends in this cute guide to dog-friendly treats, DIY projects, and themed parties. Projects are organized by season: spring (Easter Bunny ears costume, carrot cake doughnuts), summer (Puppy Pool Party, a denim bandanna from old jeans), autumn (Pupkin Spice Not-Latte, various Halloween costumes from dog hoodies, and a Harry Pawter party), and winter (ugly holiday sweaters, carob sweets for Valentine's Day). The recipes are simple and clearly laid out; there are several varieties of festive popsicles (or pupsicles) made from yogurt and fruit. Craft projects use hot glue instead of a sewing machine, and include an in-progress photo and Hunt's dogs, Dave, a dachschund, and Elizabeth, a corgi, modeling the finished product. The recipes, crafts, and activities have all been reviewed by a veterinarian, and safety reminders about dog diet and behavior appear throughout the book, so everything can be enjoyed safely. Hunt blogs about ways to spoil your dog at the Dapple, and the sweet pastel aesthetic carries over in this collection of highly Instagrammable projects.
