Anne of West Philly A modern graphic retelling of Anne of Green Gables

In this contemporary graphic adaptation of the popular children's novel Anne of Green Gables, Anne is now a Black tween who is fostered into siblings' Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert's home in West Philly. And Anne thrives, developing close friendships, experiencing her first love, and succeeding in school. Weir and Haynes' modern take does a solid job at recasting the classic with updated plot points that will appeal to young readers. Supported by colorful, meaningfully expressive artwork, this graphic novel presents a beloved tale with a fresh perspective.
