Inspired by a true story and written and directed by Werner Herzog, "Rescue Dawn" tells the story Dieter Dengler (Christian Bale), an American pilot shot down over Laos during the Vietnam war, captured by the Vietcong and subjected to a hellish prison camp. What followed was one of the most remarkable and harrowing experiences of the entire war, an uncanny tale of camaraderie and betrayal, courage in the face of despair, and triumph over tragedy. Steve Zahn and Jeremy Davies also star.
