In The Ultimate All-Around Stitch Dictionary, Wendy Bernard packs all the stitch patterns you could ever wish for into a single, handy new volume. Featuring all the great stitch patterns from the Up, Down, All-Around and the Knitting All Around stitch dictionaries, along with 30 new stitches, Bernard presents patterns for top down, bottom... up, back and forth, and in the round knitting. With all of the stitches you want in one place along with new patterns places, this book is among the must-have dictionaries out there--and a new format and lower price point make it even more irresistible"--Publisher's website.

Review by Library Journal Review

Stitch dictionaries are excellent tools for knitters of all levels, and this volume, the fourth from knitwear designer Bernard, author of the "Custom Knits" series, is an excellent addition to the genre. Designed as a companion to her 2015 Up, Down, All-Around Stitch Dictionary, this book can be utilized entirely on its own or in conjunction with the first volume. Each stitch pattern features a full-color swatch photo, and instructions for working flat or in the round, top-down or bottom-up are provided when the pattern differs based on the direction. Nine chapters are divided by stitch type, making it easy for readers to locate the exact stitch they are looking for, from cables to colorwork and more, or just to browse through and look for inspiration. While not all of the stitch patterns are particularly innovative, this is an excellent, comprehensive book. Bernard also provides sample projects to help readers understand how to incorporate the stitch patterns into their own designs. VERDICT This is an excellent book for newer knitters, but it's also for those who are more familiar with designing and modifying existing patterns who would like to add a versatile stitch dictionary to their collection.--Whitney Kramer
