Fire on the Hill

Streaming video - 2020

A critically-acclaimed documentary about Black cowboys living in Compton and South Central LA. Long before hip-hop and gang culture, South LA was home to world-championship African American cowboys. Yet when a mysterious arson attempt forces the closure of their stable — called “The Hill”— this historic culture must fight to survive. This critically-acclaimed film pioneered the Western-Documentary genre and inspired the work of Netflix's "Concrete Cowboys."
