Review by School Library Journal Review

Baby-Toddler--In this delightful series installment, Gerald the Giraffe and his friends in the jungle dance along to the classic Christmas song "Jingle Bells." Each page incorporates the tune to lyrics that depict the various ways Gerald and his friends are celebrating the holiday. The animals wear scarves in their snow-covered jungle, which is decorated with Christmas trees, snowmen, and holiday lights. Gerald and his friends sing, play instruments, and do several types of dance, including the cha-cha, the tango, and ballet. They give each other gifts and carol together. This installment shows the continuous growth of Gerald, who dances so eloquently while the other animals follow his lead. Pair this title with the 25th anniversary edition of the first entry, Giraffes Can't Dance, to introduce Gerald and the other characters to children's collections. VERDICT With sweet, melodic rhymes and a beautiful blue background to fit the glorious Christmas colors, this book is a great addition to any children's library.--Annmarie Braithwaite
