Review by School Library Journal Review

Gr 2--4--Jaden and Leela Jackson's family travels in an RV, assisting with disaster relief. Their father, an award-winning doctor, treats the injured, while their mother, a journalist, documents the disasters. While helping at an animal shelter damaged by a tornado, the siblings find themselves facing twin tornadoes and must act quickly to protect both themselves and the animals. The short sentences and plentiful illustrations add to the fast-paced action, making this an engaging choice for early chapter book readers building confidence. Though some tornado facts are included, the focus remains on disaster preparedness and helping others. VERDICT A good choice for large collections, this book presents an important topic in an accessible way while keeping young readers engaged.
