Review by School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 1--An adorable early reader that children and adults will enjoy reading together. The puppy Biscuit's owner has a sleepover that includes the two friends' puppies as well. Much fun ensues, with Biscuit "borrowing" stuffies and wanting to play with them. The owner has Biscuit and his friends playing games, helping to set up the sleeping bags, and eating snacks, all while helping to teach Biscuit not to take their stuffies. At the end of the book, when everyone is settling down to go to sleep, Biscuit finally finds his own stuffie. The pictures in the story, done by Berlin in the style of Pat Schories, are colorful, adorable, and engaging, and definitely draw readers in. Children will just enjoy hearing the story, and the repetition and simple words will help them begin to recognize the text and try reading on their own. VERDICT A must-have for preschool classrooms and to have on hand for families with young children.--Sara Collins
