In Chu's (The Takedown) latest, obituary editor Nadine Barbault commits the ultimate transgression when she accidentally publishes the obit of Dot Voline, an eccentric literary icon who is very much alive. Demoted and on the hunt for the reclusive author, Nadine is surprised to encounter Wesley Chen, a former classmate and journalist at the rival Spear. The pair pursue an interview with Dot and are shocked to be offered her story, with one catch: it can only be published after her death. When Dot suddenly dies before they have the full story, Nadine and Wesley ignore demands to let it go. Instead, they start to search through Dot's intricately decorated mansion for something that would explain the scandal in her past.
