CHAPTER ONE JUST LIKE THE MOVIES What is your favorite movie? Is it the cosmic blockbuster Star Troops ? Or the action-packed Super Scorpio Man ? Or maybe it's Minnie & Jimmy, the Epic Sing-Along Movie . There are way too many exciting and fun movies to name them all! Me? My favorite movie is anything I get to watch on the big screen. I love everything about the movies: The smell of buttery popcorn, the squish of the gummy worms, and the bubbly sweetness of the soda. And when the movie starts, there's the big booming surround sound from all the speakers. It's two million times louder than your parents would ever let you listen to anything at home. That's when your whole body starts tingling and your five senses scream, "IT'S FUN TIME!!!" I will see any kind of movie in the theaters. I even beg my parents to take me to see old black-and-white movies on Classic Movie Night. Like I said, I love them ALL! But my best friend, Desmond Cole, taught me how to take movie-going to a whole new level. All it takes is two words: DOUBLE FEATURE. A double feature is when you get to see two movies, back-to-back. All for the price of one! Like, you could see Frosted AND Frosted 2 in the same afternoon, and smile until your face hurts! Sounds amazing, right? Well, most of the time, it is. Once in a while, though, double features can turn into a horror show... even if you're not there to see a scary movie! See, that's me, Andres Miedoso. I'm the one in the jungle, totally trapped in those thorny vines and plants with teeth. I'm trying not to get hit with the fireballs raining down from the sky. Next to me is Desmond Cole. Yes, he's the one trying to use a soda bottle like a fire extinguisher. There are also HUGE footsteps in the mud... which you'd see if everything wasn't on fire. I know you're thinking, this whole situation could only happen in a movie. And I'm here to tell you, "Exactly!" But to tell this story the right way, I have to rewind all the way back to the beginning. So grab some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the show!
