Its broad mix of subjects offers an insightful, visual approach to knowledge of t...he world around and within us. Like the borders of waves, clouds, and light, the borders of these phenomena shift over the course of the book's pages, taking readers on a journey across the Earth, into the sky, and beyond."--Bookshop.org.

Review by Booklist Review

This unique work covers a wide variety of topics, mostly related to science and technology but also including cognitive sciences and anthropology. Each page takes a topic and combines an infographic with a brief written explanation. Readers will be intrigued trying to figure out the connection between entries on adjacent pages, or whether there is a connection. The authors don't say one way or the other, but some connections seem clear. For example, the entry on animal tracks complements the one on fingerprints that follows. However, are line drawings of the first tree parallel to yoga poses in the history-of-yoga entry, even though the latter doesn't address specific poses? Hard to say. What can be said is the entries are well done. The infographics tell a story, and the narratives enhance it. An index at the end directs readers to specific entries based on the subjects mentioned earlier. The difficulty for libraries is that the title is nondescript, entries are brief and somewhat random, and the overall subject matter is broad. Recommended for public libraries that embrace serendipity.
