Review by School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 1--Lilo and Stitch are preparing for a springtime party at Lilo's school, but Stitch slows Lilo down every time he attempts to help. He eats the fruit they are supposed to bring to the party, then falls asleep on the beach when Lilo asks him to deliver flowers. The story has little tension and a predictably tidy resolution. The simple, decodable text is set in large type, but there are a few places where new readers will be hampered by the lack of contrast between the text and the full-bleed illustrations beneath it. Sharp-eyed educators or caretakers may take issue with two illustrations showing characters riding bikes without helmets. VERDICT Nothing groundbreaking, but fans of the movie will forgive the formulaic plot.--Amy Reimann
