Consider this an elevated, "official" guide to the kind of eating many of us have enjoyed for years: opening the refrigerator and pantry to mix and match foodstuffs without doing any extensive cooking. Freedman takes the whole endeavor and makes it better planned and organized, with prep times ranging from 5 to 40 minutes. Some combinations are classics, like bruschetta and deconstructed guacamole. Among Freedman's more inventive offerings are a grown-up PB & J, mango chaat rolls using hot dog buns, and a mix of nuts, raisins, garlic, and spices on hummus. In addition to time needed, each snack recipe includes directions and color photographs. Freedman even offers recommendations for mixing multiple recipes together for a movie or game night and other celebrations. Snacking made professional. Includes a glossary of global pantry items.
