Review by School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 1--Through several flaps and substantial text, this interactive board book introduces readers to many types of animals and their special characteristics. With a plot featuring Mama Goose as she tries to find one of her goslings, they all wander around the pond looking for the little one. During this search journey, the goslings learn about habitats, fauna, and what makes animals and their babies unique. The earthy palette and two-page layout capture not only the fauna but also the flora that comprises each animal's home. The small and detailed text makes this board book more suitable for preschoolers than for babies and can serve as a springboard for other informational books about each animal included. VERDICT An optional title for public libraries and preschools looking to expand their nonfiction animal collections.--Sujei Lugo
