Now he wants to be just as cool as they are! But are there limits to what a monster can do?

Review by Booklist Review

Hachiro is a child monster in an adult body who has been set loose on the streets of Tokyo in order to inspire terror in the hearts of humans, but he instead finds he really enjoys ice cream and just living among them. He takes up a mantle fighting against other Fears and becomes a superfan of the human Fear-Fighting team, the Unbelievables. His quest makes him a target for monsters who can't understand his betrayal. Plenty of humorous moments and lots of electric fight scenes brings this in line with the atmosphere of the first volume of Matsumoto's series Kaiju No. 8. Sugito's illustrations are wacky and heighten the hilarity of a sweets-loving monstrosity, but the illustrations also do a sufficient job conveying fear, with copious frightening details for each terrifying monster. A moment of nonsexual nudity, noncensored cursing, and a wealth of bloodied violence make this best suited for most older teen libraries.
