"Narrated through the eyes of a child, this evocative picture book will allow readers to participate in the magic, the illusion of the 'sweet wait', the impatience of the arrival and the excitement of the birth of a new life. At their mother's side, a child will experience the deepest emotions of motherhood, through play, discovery andcreativity, in a childhood filled with the utmost gentleness. Expectations, doubts, hopes and dreams ... And all the love in the world brought together in a beautiful picture book, as unique as it is special, that pays tribute to women and, above all, to you, mom."--

Review by School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 2--This beautiful entry in the "Family Love" series is a love letter to mothers and the special relationship between a mother and child. Beginning from pregnancy, the story follows mother and child as the newborn becomes a toddler and then a small child. Text describes all of the wonderful things that a mother and child share, and the special moments and unconditional love that pass between them. Colorful illustrations show the growing child and the experiences they share, as well as the memories they make every day. Special details are sprinkled throughout the text: a small zebra toy that has been present since pregnancy, a special little dog that is a part of daily moments. Del Mazo elaborates on all the special things mothers do, while also reminding mothers how much they are needed. VERDICT A lovely picture book focusing on mothers and their love, and a sweet addition to all collections.--Selenia Paz
