Once the star of a series of iconic coffee commercials, Greta Perks longs for the days when people recognized her on the street and her family was regarded as the epitome of the ideal household. Now, a decade later, Greta and her husband are separated, her teenage daughter barely speaks to her, and she rarely books any acting jobs. When she stumbles upon a mysterious coffee shop with an even more enigmatic owner, she is intrigued by the offer to make a wish over a magical cup of coffee. Soon, Greta is briefly transported to an idyllic town where life appears perfect. Despite the shop owner's warnings, Greta yearns to spend more time in this perfect place and bends the rules of the coffee shop, causing a ripple of repercussions in both her worlds. Readers who enjoy books that explore "what if" scenarios such as Matt Haig's The Midnight Library (2020) or Paige Harbison's The Other Side of Now (2025) will be charmed by Greta's story of searching for fulfillment and finding it in the imperfections.
