Poppy Peterson loves working as a publicist for her best friend and the Portland Pathfinders' quarterback Cash Curran, but keeping Cash's public image scandal-free is not without its challenges. Case in point: Cash just declared his love for pop-star sensation Lyric Adair on social media. To both Cash's and Poppy's surprise, Lyric agrees to an initial date with Cash, but first a few details need to be ironed out with her publicist, Rosaline Sinclair. Working with Rosaline, whose reputation in the publicity business is legendary, fills Poppy with equal measures of excitement and dread. However, after their first meeting, Poppy finds herself experiencing another, completely different emotion, intense desire. Written with her usual formidable flair, Bellefleur's (The Devil She Knows, 2025) latest luscious love story is another brilliant merger of sharply etched characters, scintillating banter, and sensually saturated love scenes. Bellefleur's thoughtful exploration of Poppy's relatable struggles with her own sense of personal and professional self worth introduces another layer of emotional richness to a remarkable romance that will resonate with many readers.

Bellefleur (Truly, Madly, Deeply) pairs a pop star and a quarterback in this delightful, ripped-from-the-headlines contemporary. When publicist Poppy Peterson's client, quarterback Cash Curran, aims a cheeky tweet at superstar musician Lyric Adair, Poppy's convinced he's lost his mind. She's shocked when the public pickup line works and Lyric's high-profile publicist, Rosaline Sinclair, reaches out to set up a meeting between the two celebs. Sparks soon fly between Lyric and Cash--and between Poppy and Rosaline as the women work to wrangle their rebellious clients. Then a deepfake scandal whipped up by someone from Lyric's past threatens to tear both couples apart. Readers will quickly fall for all four leads. Cash is a lovable goofball with a heart of gold and Lyric is his perfect foil, but it's Poppy and Rosaline who generate the most steam. Readers will find it extremely satisfying to witness the women move from strained professionalism to red-hot romance. Bellefleur also adds depth to the narrative by probing into Poppy's past struggles with alcohol and Rosaline's imposter syndrome. This charms. (Jan.)

Poppy Peterson is thriving as the publicist for Cash Curran, her best friend and the NFL's most promising quarterback. When Cash uses social media to announce his interest in pop star Lyric Adair, Poppy panics, fearing he may have evoked the wrath of Lyric's notorious publicist, Rosaline Sinclair. When Rosaline reaches out, Poppy is surprised to hear that Lyric reciprocates Cash's romantic interest. While Cash and Lyric fall in love through a whirlwind romance reminiscent of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's, Poppy and Rosaline must work together to protect their clients. Through every interaction they have, Poppy is convinced that Rosaline doesn't like her or respect her as a publicist, until one steamy encounter changes everything and the two publicists begin their own whirlwind romance. With paparazzi and tabloids around every corner, Poppy and Rosaline have much to overcome to keep both their clients' relationship, and their own, from harm. With two romances for the price of one, readers will be rooting for Lyric and Cash just as much as Poppy and Rosaline. VERDICT Bellefleur (The Devil She Knows) shines in this fun, lighthearted sapphic romance, perfect for readers who enjoy pop culture mixed with their fiction.--Rachel Hedderman
