Review by Booklist Review

The exciting conclusion to the Fair Folk trilogy (after A Crown So Silver, 2025) begins with Fia, a changeling, who is locked in a mental battle with Talah, a powerful entity she offered refuge to. Meanwhile, her husband and allies--who are carrying her along--flee from the destruction of the Silver Isle while pursuing Fia's megalomaniacal half-sister, Eala, who won corrupted wild magic on the Longest Night. Fia's battle drags her through both her memories and her own history, even allowing her to meet her father before her birth, as her allies protect her unconscious body. They find safe harbor with Laoise, her brother Idris, and their draigs (dragons), and search Laoise's library for a way to restore the magical balance between both the fae and human realms. When Fia binds Talah to Laoise's magical nemeton, they're forced to flee again, all while developing a plan to restore the last two Treasures and make a stand against Eala and her undead army. It's a beautifully complicated story, and Selene neatly wraps up this trilogy while leaving the possibility open for more stories in her realms.
