Hello, lovely crafter! I'm Rachele and I am so proud to offer you this crochet blanket pattern book. In it you'll find 18 full blanket designs filled with fun, interesting techniques and traditional stitches. I have been crocheting since 2005, and have not skipped a day since I picked up my hook. Over the years my crafty business has evolved and transformed. Most recently, my favorite thing is to look at art, architecture, nature, street murals - anything visually engaging - and imagine a new blanket design. I have published over 120 crochet blanket patterns independently, in bookazines, magazines, and in my first pattern book, The Art of Crochet Blankets. Finding new ways to create modular designs and playing with shape and color have come to define my work, and I decided to create a new volume of blanket patterns to celebrate my signature approach. You will notice that I tend to lend my own "cozy maximalist" twist to the typical motif blanket! If you have followed my work, you will know that I love pushing the limits of crochet design by combining different motifs and stitch patterns in the same blanket, experimenting with scale and structure. My original inspiration for these geometric extravaganza came from studying fabric quilts. When working with fabric one can simply cut the shapes, but translating that to a crochet pattern comes with its challenges, and I love to be challenged! A blanket's shape is like my canvas, and I use geometry, color theory, knowledge of stitch construction, and other techniques to fill that canvas creatively and create repeatable blanket patterns. That is the crux of my work: creating art that you, the crafter, can replicate and make your own. This is the goal that I have been working towards as I have developed my skills as a designer. I hope that you find these 18 projects engaging and fun. My goal was to include a mix of quick-and-easy and challenging makes, to offer you new stitches and delight you with familiar ones, all while bringing you bright, bold and opulent designs.
