Review by Library Journal Review

Bestselling author and celebrity chef Oliver (Simply Jamie) provides recipes for a healthy lifestyle and promotes healthy eating with 120 recipes packed with nutritious ingredients. The introduction includes 50 healthy hacks, a checklist of small ways to feed oneself more nutritiously. There is also a two-week diet "kickstart" plan, plus other meal plans that take the guesswork out of deciding what to cook. Emphasis is placed on eating seven servings of vegetables and fruits a day, and each recipe clearly indicates how many servings of fruits and/or vegetables it contains. Fresh, whole ingredients are used alongside canned and frozen ones that reduce prep time. The recipes have few steps and are easy to follow for home cooks with moderate kitchen experience. A chapter on healthier sweet treats features desserts made with fruit instead of processed sugar. Photos of dishes and ingredients show a rainbow of colors and make each plate look delicious. VERDICT This cookbook will appeal to Oliver's fans, as well as anyone interested in making healthier food choices. This is a first purchase.--Margaret Puentes
