The sitcom based on comedian Alan Carr’s childhood returns. But what does 1987 have in store for Northampton’s favourite son? Negotiating sexual awakenings, battling bullies and navigating the vagaries of fourth division football were just the beginning. Now, Alan finds his popularity at school has nosedived. Meanwhile, his dad Graham is an absolute legend thanks to his team’s sporting prowess, but his success means he can’t be there when his family needs him most. And while Alan’s mother Christine is fiercely proud of her son, maybe she needs to let him spread his wings.
