In 1848, Paris is in turmoil and so is Victor Hugo’s life—torn between political ideals, mistresses, and family. Betrayed by Napoleon III, Hugo launches a newspaper to speak for the people. As revolution intensifies, his sons are jailed and he sends his family away, choosing to stay and resist. Branded an Enemy of the State, Hugo faces disgrace and exile, but remains unwavering in his fight for justice.
