Review by Library Journal Review

In this Salem, MA-set spin-off of the popular "Krewe of Hunters" series, Graham (Voice of Fear) blends paranormal suspense, history, and gothic atmosphere. Skye McMahon's psychic visions draw her into a disturbing case involving a murder, a missing nanny, and a kidnapped child. Partnered with Zachary Erickson, whose psychic talents complement her own, Skye is pulled between haunting images of the 17th-century Salem witch trials and terrifying visions of a malevolent, witchlike figure stalking the living. As the pair investigate the first case, additional disappearances raise the stakes, with whispers of cult activity and Salem's grim past fueling their search. Graham makes effective use of the New England setting, layering historic resonance with eerie detail, while the central partnership develops into a slow-burn romance that balances the grimmer elements. The pacing unfolds gradually and the prose occasionally lags, but the mix of supernatural danger, mystery, and character dynamics keeps the narrative engaging. Fans of Simone St. James and Jayne Ann Krentz will appreciate the combination of paranormal suspense and romantic tension. VERDICT An atmospheric spin-off with strong crossover appeal; recommended for collections where romantic suspense and paranormal thrillers circulate well.--Jenna LaBollita
