Kaiah Ross is a freelance travel writer driving her old Land Rover to her next stop, when her vehicle overheats and she ends up in idyllic Coral Cove, North Carolina, a town with a stunning lighthouse in disrepair. Getting Kaila's car running may take weeks. She soon meets tall, dark, and handsome firefighter Reid Turner, the widowed dad of lively six-year-old Piper. Reid also happens to have a garage apartment Kaiah rents temporarily. She quickly bonds with both father and daughter. She also helps the community by successfully organizing a previously cancelled spring festival. The proceeds will allow them to repair the fire-damaged school and restore the old lighthouse. When her travel articles go viral, Kaiah gets two job offers which would mean leaving Coral Cove. But she loves Reid and his family. Will she stay? Although the plot follows predictable rom-com tropes, Clipston makes it fresh and engaging. Her lead characters are appealing, and her descriptions of this beautiful place add atmosphere. Her readers will enjoy their escape to Coral Cove.
