Review by School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 3--Dominguez is back with another hilarious "Lolo and Birdie" tale about the enemy of every child: boredom. In this bilingual picture book, Lolo the dinosaur is bored--despite being surrounded by books, games, toys, and crayons. In typical Birdie fashion, Birdie tries his best to meet Lolo's demands by putting on a play, baking cookies, swimming, and biking, but nothing works. That is, until Lolo discovers for himself a new entertaining activity that happens to be every parent's dream: cleaning up. Like the rest of the books in the series, short and simple sentences in both languages and adorable digital drawings make this installment appealing for beginner readers. English and Spanish knowledge are helpful but not necessary to fully access this book, as not all English text is translated into Spanish, and not all Spanish text is translated into English. VERDICT Purchase where the series and bilingual books circulate well.--Maria Bohan
