Review by School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 1--A witty bilingual picture book that proves even the "same old, same old" can be something to treasure. Told through a playful conversation between two colorful fish, the story pairs an English sentence with its Spanish translation directly underneath, making it an excellent resource for children learning either language. While the fish complain about the boredom of their daily lives and how nothing ever happens, an unexpected visitor takes the pair for a ride. When they get back to the same rock and the same shells, they realize that sometimes, the ordinary is exactly what they want. McKinnon keeps the readers engaged through humor paired with simple, vibrant illustrations reminiscent of Kevin Sherry's I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean. VERDICT A general purchase for most collections.--Jessica Clark
