Compelling true crime series about a model who was abducted in Italy and negotiated her own release – only to be vilified by the press on her return to the UK. Model Chloe Ayling was delighted to be booked for a photo shoot in Milan. But on arrival, she was drugged and abducted by a man calling himself ‘MD’ who said that he worked for a powerful crime syndicate. With time running out, Chloe managed to convince MD to release her to the British Consulate – on the premise that the two might one day be together. The plan worked and Chloe survived. However, on her return to the UK, Chloe was not treated as the survivor of a horrific crime, but vilified by the press and accused of orchestrating the kidnap for publicity.
