Review by Booklist Review

In this inspiring collection, Cameron offers 366 daily meditations based on the four principles of The Artist's Way (1992): morning pages (three pages written longhand right after awakening), artist's dates (weekly creative adventures), walking (20 minutes alone), and writing for guidance (weekly time to tune in to your inner voice). Each entry consists of a short meditation, a well-chosen quotation, an affirmation, and a writing prompt. Topics include creativity, procrastination, blocks, originality, celebrating the now, and perseverance. The writing prompts suggest actions such as "Name three things you are worrying about" and "What is one action I can take on behalf of my creativity today?" A book of daily meditations is not usually the best choice for library collections, but the meditations are numbered and not given a date, so anyone wanting to sample the offerings or jump in anywhere can do so. Suggestions for artist's dates are found in the appendix. Cameron has a huge following, and readers will be encouraged by her gentle words.
