DEBUT When Raven Thorne's parents are arrested and executed for their participation in a rebel force, Raven becomes a bounty hunter to support her younger brother, Jed. She captures criminals who are sent to Endlock, a prison that allows the wealthy to pay to hunt and kill inmates--and that no one ever leaves alive. When Jed is arrested, Raven works with the Collective, the rebel organization that got her parents killed, on a plan to infiltrate Endlock as a prisoner and then escape the prison with Jed and a fellow inmate named Kit, who is important to the Collective. Raven reluctantly befriends fellow inmates, including Kit. Mysteriously, prison guard Vale protects Raven numerous times, and she cannot help reacting to his attentions, even during the most harrowing of times. But who is Vale, and can Raven trust him to help with her escape plan much less her heart? This dystopian romance will thrill with the constant danger and suspense Raven endures daily and the sexy but secretive, Vale, as her protector. VERDICT Fast's debut is perfect for fans of science-fiction romances such as Claire Kent's Last Light, Dani Francis's Silver Elite, or Ariel Sullivan's Conform.--Eve Stano
