Review by Booklist Review

British author Storey (The Memory Library, 2025) returns with another story about how books can change our lives. Grace Bray is grieving her husband, Frank, who has unexpectedly died of a heart attack. On the cusp of seventy herself, Grace is confronting her own mortality, and she decides to step out of her comfort zone. She joins the book club Frank loved so much, even though she's not much of a reader herself, and gets to know Frank's friends. This silent book club allows the group to enjoy their selections while keeping each other company. In the meantime, Grace finds some of Frank's journals. She learns that he had ADHD, which Grace doesn't know much about, even though her grandson has just been diagnosed with it. Grace and her friends embark on a journey to spread awareness of the condition, along with the benefits that a silent book club can provide for people living with ADHD. While at times heavy-handed with its message, Grace's story is ultimately uplifting. Storey's fans will not be disappointed.
