This critical and audience film festival favorite, combines humor and heart, as it explores the adventure of friendship and discovery of new worlds. Victor and Thomas have lived their entire young lives in the same tiny Idaho town, on the same Reservation, but they couldn't have less in common. When Victor is urgently called away, Thomas hatches a scheme to pay for the trip, in excange for a tagalong on the journey. Written by Sherman Alexie from his original short story, and directed by Chris Eyre (Skinwalkers), SMOKE SIGNALS was selected for preservation in the Library of Congress National Film Registry for being culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant.
